"Legand of Sleepy Hollow" Vocab/First Impression

So far I think that "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is interesting because this isn't something that I normally read. I think that it is going to be creepy because of the first couple of pages. It introduces the character on the horse with no head and that it just weird to think about and picture.

The children are an example of strippling.

Reverie-A spell
Witches are known for using reveries.

Gamble-A bet
People gamble all the time.

Loiter-To wait without a purpose or to travel and stop a lot
When people used horses to travel the would have to loiter so the horses could rest.

Bosom-The space between the breasts
Many babies are held on there moms bosom.

Tranquilitie-Peace
I only wish for tranquilitie between the two countries.

Vouch-Credibility
Please vouch for him.

Pruden-Practilce
That is pruden of him.

Hessian Trooper-An 18th century soldier.
The Hessian Troopers were not known to many people.

Belated-Late
The child got detention because he was belated.

Spector-Watch
The parents spector their childrens games sometimes.

 Grevious-Over the top
His work is always grevious.

Magnanimously-Generally
He magnanimously has cookies and milk.
